Four members of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference face off in two conference series this week while two more take part in tournament action. No. 4 Colorado College visits North Dakota while Nebraska Omaha hosts St. Cloud State in two WCHA series. No. 9/10 Denver hosts its annual D enver Cup tournament with a game against M iami in the second game of the weekend. The Pioneers will open with Princeton. In addition to Denver, the  RedHawks will square off with Providence College in the opener. No. 12/13 Western Michigan, which played a rare Tuesday game against Notre Dame, and sixth-ranked Minnesota Duluth both have the weekend off.

LAST WEEK’S ACTION

Seven of the eight members of The National were in action last weekend with only Western Michigan idle. The only series pitting future NCHC members against one another w as in Denver where the Pioneers beat Nebraska Omaha, 7-3, before tying the Mavericks 3-3
on Saturday. In other action, Minnesota Duluth ran its unbeaten string to ten games (8-0-2), beating visiting Minnesota State 5-2 and 7-3. M iami is now unbeaten in six straight (4-0-2) following a 4-0 win and a 4-4 tie with B owling Green. Colorado College picked up a home sweep of Wisconsin, winning 4-2 and 4-1 a t Colorado Springs World Arena. St. Cloud State split a home-and-home series with then No. 1 Minnesota, beating the Gophers, 4-3, on Friday at the National Hockey Center before losing 5-0 the following night at Mariucci Arena. North Dakota earned a road split at Bemidji State, beating the Beavers 5-2 on Friday before losing 1-0 on S aturday. Western Michigan played on Tuesday, Nov. 22, tying Notre Dame, 2-2, before winning a shootout, 2-0.
